GMTO

GMT CFD PSF Generator

Generate Point Spread Function visualizations from GMT telescope CFD data

PSF Configuration

CFD Data

Select dome seeing and/or wind loads data; dome seeing data uses ray tracing through the volume of turbulence inside the dome; wind loads data applies wind pressure on the telescope mount and optics, the segment tip and tilt can be filtered out either with the FSM or the ASM closed-loop rejection transfer functions (RTFs), the ASM also filters out the segment piston

CFD Configuration

Select the telescope orientation with respect to the wind, the wind is always blowing from the NNE direction; Select the wind speed, the enclosure vents and wind screen setup depends on the wind speed: either open/stowed or closed/deployed; Select the telescope elevation angle (at low elevation the wind screen is stowed)
